Support Recovery and Help Transform Neurorehabilitation

Brain injury recovery shouldn't stop at survival. Here's why I do this work — and how you can help someone who can't afford it.

Cavin Balaster, founder of Feed a Brain

As a young man, I suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. I was in a coma for weeks. I couldn't eat, walk, or talk. I was breathing through a tracheostomy and receiving nutrition through a feeding tube.

Thanks to a combination of love, community, critical care, and a relentless search for answers… I made it back.

But during my recovery, I discovered something shocking: the conventional model of neurorehabilitation is incomplete at best.

It focuses on surviving — but not truly healing. And while survival matters, so does quality of life.

That's why I trained as a functional health practitioner specialized in neurology. I wrote How to Feed a Brain to share my journey and the science-backed tools that helped me reclaim my mind, body, and life.

Today, I support clients and families around the world — some in hospitals, some 10+ years post-injury — as they navigate the complex and often lonely path of healing the brain.

💡 This work is bigger than me

I help clients:

  • Regain cognition, speech, and movement
  • Optimize digestion to support the gut-brain axis
  • Reduce inflammation through brain-friendly nutrition
  • Discover overlooked therapies that actually move the needle

But it's not just about helping one person at a time. It's about shifting the standard model of care by promoting powerful modalities like:

  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
  • Gyrostim and Vestibular Therapy
  • Vision Therapy and Neuro-Optometry
  • Functional Neurology
  • Targeted Supplementation and Digestive Support
  • Gut/Brain Axis Restoration

These tools saved my life — and they're saving others too. But most people have never even heard of them.

🔁 Let's do this work together

This is my calling.

At one point I tried to run from it… to do something different. God made it very clear that this is why I'm still here: to positively affect many lives in a great way.

And I believe in the ripple effect — because what we do for one can inspire healing for many.

Monthly supporters of $100 or more will be honored on my website, with the option to feature your name, logo, and link to your service. It's a way to collaborate in revolutionizing neurorehabilitation — together.

❤️ Sponsor a life. Shift a paradigm.

There are people who urgently need this kind of support — but can't afford it.

That's where you come in. When you become a supporter, your donation helps me hold space for a family in need.

You're not just giving money. You're giving hope, guidance, and life-changing support to those navigating the hardest chapter of their lives.

Together, we're not just helping individuals. We're changing the model.

If you believe in a more complete, integrative, and effective approach to recovery, I invite you to join me.

Thank you for your heart. Your belief. Your presence in this movement.

With deep gratitude,
Cavin Balaster
